Ethne-MC is a growing Network of colleagues who are involved in member care. We come from many nations and many organisations/churches. Our passion is to see the least-reached people groups (LPGs) experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ. We are committed to help provide and develop member care resources in order to support the diversity of people/senders who are working among LPGs. Our Network is part of the Ethne to Ethne Movement (for more information see “About Ethne” on the site’s home page). Some of our core contributions include:

  1. Our web site, with its many practical resources
  2. Our monthly Update, with information on important news/resources
  3. Our ongoing linking with the 120+ Partnerships to LPGs
  4. Our connections with qualified colleagues who can consult, counsel, coach, and offer workshops to people/senders among LPGs
  5. Our desire to support people with member care responsibilities in LPG contexts

Member Care—A Definition

Member care is a broad term that encompasses all of the support that mission workers need to minister effectively.

  1. It is the ongoing investment of resources by sending groups, service organisations, and workers themselves.
  2. It strengthens people so that they can effectively serve together in ministry.
  3. It helps people to develop resilience, skills, and virtue (character, competence and compassion).
  4. It includes every person that is involved in sending and going, such as children, home office staff, and field workers.
  5. It occurs before, during, and after a person’s involvement in mission.
