Learn from the secular

Just because someone is on a mission to make money rather than save souls doesn’t mean you can’t learn from them. Here’s some examples of things you can do when reading a business book or a business blog:
Replace “revenue” or “profit” with “souls” (Mark 8:36).
Replace “startup” with “pioneer new ministry”.
When reading about “creating realistic business plans” think about Jesus’ words to “count the cost.”
When reading about “venture capital” think about “donors”.
This becomes especially important when you consider that in many cases, reaching the unreached is going to require a business platform—because the typical religious worker isn’t allowed in the area.
